  1. A vintage-inspired technicolour dial – complete with authentic decompression scale. A renowned hand-wound Sellita calibre that’s both accurate and slim. And a price that’s every bit as retro as the watches that inspired it. The C65 Divetimer Special SE is an unforgettable timing device that does justice to the movement that powers it. Limited to just 150 pieces. £495 – US$ 595 Elegance, affordability and ingenuity The story of the C65 Divetimer Special Edition begins in 1962 with Dr Hannes Keller – physicist, mathematician and extreme deep-sea diver. With a plan to break the world depth record, he worked with Vulcain to create a watch that featured a decompression scale to help him calculate decompression stop on his ascent. Now that scale returns on the dial of the C65 Divetimer Special Edition – a watch that not only harks back to the subaquatic pioneers of the past, but also delivers style and technical excellence in spades. All at an unbelievable price. At the heart of the watch is the hand-wound Sellita SW210 movement. Making its Christopher Ward swansong – there’s only 150 left – it boasts a power reserve of 42 hours. And thanks to its 3.35mm height, the watch’s Light-catcher™ case can afford to be both slim and elegant. The dial is dominated by the precision-printed decompression scale, with bands of orange contrasting beautifully with the deep blue base. The brushed and polished indexes – vital when using the scale – add depth and clarity, and partner perfectly with the baton-style hands. As a diving instrument, the watch delivers water-resistance to 150m, while the rotating bezel can be used to time your ascents while you’re in the water. And while we’re sad to say goodbye to the Sellita SW210, we couldn’t think of a better way to send it on its way. Sellita SW210 hand-wound movement Previously used on Christopher Ward watches like the C65 Trident Diver, the Sellita SW210 hand-wound movement combines accuracy (it has a tolerance of +20/-20 seconds per day) with a slim profile and a generous power reserve. At only 3.35mm high, the Sellita SW210 shares many of the same components as its self-winding cousin, the Sellita SW200-1. A frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (that’s eight ticks a second) delivers 42 hours of continuous timekeeping once fully wound.
  2. The world’s most accurate chronograph movement, the ETA 251.264, meets an Aston Martin inspired design at a world-beating price. This special buy limited edition, created especially for our July Sale, is £300 below the price it would normally be as we want to (gear!) shift the last of our 251.264 movements. But hurry, with only 350 pieces you’ll need to be as fast as a DB4 Zagato to secure one! Power. Precision. Rarity If ever a watch was defined by its movement, then the C65 AM GT Limited Edition is it. The COSC-certified ETA 251.264 calibre represents the apex of quartz timekeeping technology, with a tolerance of just -10/+10 seconds per year (0.027 seconds a day). Used only in our elite racing chronographs before, when we realised stocks of the movement were low – and we wouldn’t be able to get more – we set out to create a watch that fulfilled its potential. And at a truly accessible price. That watch is the new C65 AM GT Limited Edition. This is a timepiece steeped in automotive history. Instead of the traditional ‘12-hour’ design, its dial has a speedo aesthetic influenced by the dashboard of the Aston Martin DB4 Zagato. Thanks to the power of the ETA 251.264, there’s a wealth of timing options. From the centre-stop seconds function to the 60-minute and 12-hour counters – plus the 1/10 seconds register – everything is covered. There’s also a tachymeter bezel to calculate the speed of passing vehicles when you’re trackside. Though with only 350 in existence – and now with an exclusive 40 percent off its planned price – you’ll have to quick off the grid to get yours. ETA 251.264 Quartz Chronograph One of the most accurate quartz chronographs on the market, this COSC-certified ETA 251.264 boasts a tolerance of just -10/+10 seconds per year (0.027 seconds a day). And its thermo-compensated structure means extreme heat won’t affect its accuracy either. As a chronograph it has few equals, and offers a wide range of timing functions. Aside from telling the time, it has both 60-minute and 12-hour subdials, plus a 1/10 seconds register. There’s also a centre-stop seconds function and a date wheel. 3. Following the launch of the C65 Trident Classic Mk II, we were left with 175 C65 Mk I cases at Christopher Ward HQ. Rather than store them away, we decided to use them as a starting point for a beautiful timepiece. That watch is the C65 Mk I Special Limited Edition, complete with stunning blue, white and orange colour scheme, and soon-to-be-discontinued ‘Chr. Ward’ logo. But remember, there’s only 175 to go round. Description The C65 has always been one of our most handsome dress watches, and this version is no exception. The matt-blue dial contrasts perfectly with the white indexes, but it’s the orange second hand (complete with Trident logo on the counterbalance) that makes it really stand out. The brushed-steel 43mm case provides a subtle frame for the dial, while the Trident logo, embossed on the back, confirms its diving-watch DNA. This will be the last new watch with the ‘Chr.Ward’ logo, so it’ll also provide a nostalgic reminder of Christopher Ward’s journey so far. Movement Swiss movement manufacturer Sellita started as an outsourced manufacturer of ETA’s 2824-2 movement. Changes in the industry, and the expiry of IP rights associated with the 2824, led to Sellita developing its own virtually identical version, the SW200-1. The only real difference is the addition of a 26th jewel which sits just below the ratchet wheel and reduces friction associated with automatic winding.
