      Eterna KonTiki Chronograph

      A chronograph for the adventurer
      If you happen to need a timepiece built to withstand just about everything, consider the KonTiki Chronograph. First, it comes equipped with ETA’s tried and true calibre 7750. Besides displaying the time and date on its classic KonTiki dial. the movement was designed to measure time up to 11 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. 
      To keep it protected against all hazards including the finest dust particles, Eterna has secured the movement inside a solid stainless-steel case that is water-resistant to 200 meters, fitted with screw-in pushers and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
      The valiant raft is remembered in a discreet engraving on the caseback. So whenever you have adventure in mind, remember to have a KonTiki Chronograph on your wrist.

      Anyone who sets out on a prehistoric voyage across the Pacific needs not only a great deal of luck but also food, water and of course instruments that work perfectly even under the most adverse conditions. In 1947, for his expedition, Thor Heyerdahl chose an Eterna wristwatch, at the time already synonymous with uncompromising reliability.
      That watch and its successors naturally took on the KonTiki name. Later, time and Nature demonstrated the KonTiki's exceptional ruggedness, even when exposed to long- term hostile conditions. A KonTiki 20 from the 60s spent several years at the bottom of the lake of Geneva, in Switzerland.
      It was then brought back to the surface and despite a few rust stains and many encrusted mollusks, still worked perfectly. The KonTiki Chronograph is demonstrably a rugged and reliable wristwatch, heir to a long and distinguished bloodline.

      How can one develop a familiar model without irritating the connoisseurs? At Eterna, the answer is: with a little ingenuity. Which is why the KonTiki Four Hands is called just that: that fourth hand preserves the integrity of the familiar and beloved KonTiki look. No aperture for a date calendar here! Just neat hour figures and markers framing a centrepiece inscribed with ancient runic characters ...  along with a flange calendar whose dates are picked out by the arrowhead tip of the fourth hand.

      Reminder of the origins
      KonTiki, the Inca sun god, is a name forever linked to the Eterna brand. It recalls the seafaring adventure of Thor Heyerdahl and his crew. In 1947, he and his companions sailed for 101 days and nights aboard a primitive balsa wood raft from the coast of Peru to the Raroia atoll in Polynesia in a bid to demonstrate the possibility of the settlement of Polynesia from South America rather than from Asia. All aboard wore an Eterna wristwatch that performed flawlessly throughout their extraordinary adventure. In a tribute to that memorable exploit, the caseback of all KonTiki models bear a medallion featuring an engraving of the raft.

      The best outdoor adventure companion for more than 50 years
      The striking dial face combines practical features with a modest lesson in geography and lets this timepiece meet all the expectations one might have of a watch with this name. To begin with, legibility in the dark is enhanced by the luminous triangular area under the four numbered hours, while strips of luminous compound highlight the eight other hour markers.
      The centre of the dial bears an engraved outline of Raroia, the Polynesian atoll on which the KonTiki ended its fabled voyage in 1947. The case is built for exceptional robustness, with water resistance extending to 200 metres thanks to the screw-down caseback and screw-in crown.

      KonTiki. Its name carries a lesson in courage and determination – that of Thor Heyerdahl and his crew. In 1947, they sailed across the Pacific from the Peruvian coast to a Polynesian atoll aboard a primitive balsa wood raft. 101 days and nights at sea to prove a scientific point. For essential operations, each one of them depended on the Eterna watch that never left their wrists. Their survival could have depended on it.
      Their success wrote history. In 1958, the least Eterna could do was to give the Inca Sun God name of that raft to its most ruggedly reliable watch line.       Three hands good. Four hands better. That’s certainly the case with the C65 Trident GMT. 
      While it has the construction of a diving watch, the watch’s Swiss-made Sellita SW330 gives it the ability to tell the time in another time zone. Available in regular or ‘Pepsi’ versions, the 24-hour bezel is made from brushed stainless steel, with its numerals engraved and filled with black lacquer. 
      Another notable addition is the C65’s GMT hand, finished in a popping orange or red that complements the rest of the dial’s lume-filled indexes and hands perfectly. There’s also a date window at 3 o’clock.
       
      The GMT has a brushed-and-polished 41mm case, 150m water resistance and a deep-stamped Trident backplate. Baton indexes at 12 and 6 replace the Arabic numerals of the earlier C65, while the removal of millisecond markers on its black dial supply a stripped-back feel.

      The new Sellita SW330-2 is an alternative to to the ETA 2893, and a movement that provides both superb accuracy and GMT timing.
      Just 4.1mm thick, the SW330-2 has 25 jewels and beats at a rate of 28,800 per hour with a power reserve of up to 56 hours. The central GMT hand can be set independently from the hour and seconds hands.

      A four-handed dial. On a GMT like no other. The C60 Abyss GMT is not just an ultra-cool stealth watch but an advanced timing instrument capable of monitoring two timezones at once. And when you use that bright-red GMT hand in conjunction with the dual-treated stainless steel bezel you’ll know you’re in the presence of greatness.
      Surveillance and stealth
      There’s something irresistible about GMT watches. And the C60 Abyss GMT could be the most mesmerising of all.
      Because this is a GMT that dispenses with the rule book and comes back with something altogether more mysterious. A GMT which uses texture, shadow and flashes of colour to monitor any timezone around the world.
      On a GMT watch, the relationship between the fourth hand, which travels around the dial every 24 hours, and the bezel is vital. As on our other GMTs, the steel bezel carries the numerals of the 24-hour clock. But that’s where the similarity ends. On the C60 Abyss GMT, two differently-treated stainless steel halves provide the contrast between day and night hours. Something you’ll appreciate when you’re checking your ‘other’ timezone.
      The texturisation continues on the dial with the gunmetal indexes contrasting with the matte-black background, while the glossy red ‘GMT’ hand really stands out.       Sellita SW330-2 GMT
      Made by one of the most respected names in Swiss watchmaking, the SW330-2 is a ‘GMT’ movement.
      This means that it has an extra hand that follows a 24-hour path around the dial. It can be set using the crown – in conjunction with an outer bezel – to monitor the time in another timezone.
      The SW330-2 also has a date wheel, plus an anti-shock mechanism that helps it maintain accuracy even when it receives knocks and jolts.
      Meanwhile, its seconds hand will sweep smoothly at a satisfying eight ticks per second.

      You don’t like ‘flash’ or ‘loud’ – which is why you do like the C60 Abyss. A diving watch that’s almost-entirely matte black, it offers both impeccable timing and water resistance to 600m. And while the ‘black’ Super-LumiNova® isn’t as bright as conventional lume, it still delivers increased visibility in low light. In fact, you may find a watch that doesn’t ask to be noticed gets noticed rather a lot.
      Operate under the radar
      Why would we make a ‘stealth’ diving watch? Because in a world where everything shouts, sometimes it pays to whisper.
      With a deliberately restrained aesthetic, the Abyss’s matte-black dial is complemented by a brushed ceramic bezel and gunmetal PVD case, while its deep-stamped trident case back has a black DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating. Legibility is assured in even the darkest of conditions thanks to the black Super-LumiNova®, which has been applied to the Abyss’s hands, gunmetal indexes and bezel markings. 
       
      But this Trident isn’t entirely monochrome: the moment you put it on, you’ll notice the seconds hand, complete with signature Trident counter-balance, circling the dial, wholly coated in red. 
      Sellita SW200-1 Automatic
      An update on the classic Sellita SW200, this Swiss-made self-winding movement is known for its accuracy and reliability.
      The 26-jewel movement boasts a date wheel, a 4Hz frequency (equating to a smooth eight ticks per second) and a 38-hour power reserve. It also has an in-built anti-shock system to maintain accuracy when faced with any sudden jolts.
      A 38-hour power reserve means the movement will last for well over a day off the wrist, while its rotor has a Colimaçoné finish and is engraved with our twin flags pattern.

      A watch that grows with you
      There’s nothing wrong with trying to fit in. Just don’t apply it to the C60 Trident Bronze Ombré COSC Limited Edition. Because this is a timepiece that takes individuality seriously.
      The key to understanding the watch are its three layers of exclusivity. First, its relative scarcity: only 500 have been made, so once it’s sold out, that’s it.

      Sellita SW200 COSC Automatic
      Designed for those who demand the highest standards of timekeeping, this Swiss-made automatic movement has been officially designated as a ‘chronometer’ by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres.
      This means it has a certified timing tolerance of just -4/+6 seconds per day in a variety of temperatures and positions, putting it in the top six percent of Swiss-made watches for accuracy.
      The movement boasts a date wheel, a 4Hz frequency (equating to a smooth eight ticks per second) and a 38-hour power reserve. It also has an in-built anti-shock system to maintain accuracy when faced with any sudden jolts.

      The dial that has it all
      A dial is a canvas: and here it’s been used to the fullest extent. Each dial has been embellished by hand (we employ someone especially to do this), which gives it an organic textured look you’ll be instantly drawn to.
      A bezel for every depth
      Constructed in non-scratch ceramic, the diving bezel is highly legible, thanks to the contrast between the matte-black surface and lume-filled numerals. It’s also got a reassuringly solid ‘click’ – as you’ll find out when you give it a turn.
      You need hands
      In perfect contrast to the dial, the hands have brushed and polished surfaces that ensure legibility and provide a pleasing sense of balance. Both hands are filled with Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 GL C1 for visibility in low light.
      On-point indexes
      If the dial is human and organic, then the indexes convey a feeling of total precision. Top-brushed with diamond-polished facets, each one is filled with Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 GL C1 for timekeeping after dark.
      Brush up on bronze
      The entire bronze Light-catcher™ case has been brushed – rather than polished – lending the watch a rugged, near-unfinished appearance. The result is something that pairs beautifully with jeans and a T-shirt, but also adds grit to a smarter outfit.
